What do you enjoy most about financial services?

I love assisting the team as they help people reach their goals and dreams while also making a real impact on their day-to-day lives. I enjoy forming relationships and getting to know clients on a personal level.

What are the biggest challenges?

One of the biggest challenges the team faces is helping clients (and ourselves) understand personal biases when it comes to the markets and news flow.

What professional accomplishments are you most proud of?

I am most proud of the fact that I have found a career path that I love and passionate about. I enjoy helping people.

What personal accomplishments are you most proud of?

My biggest personal accomplishment is my relationship with my beautiful wife, Melanie, and also my relationships with my family and friends. Second would be winning state baseball when I was in high school and winning the Big 12 tournament when I worked for Iowa State Men’s Basketball.

What quality of yours makes you best suited to do what you do?

I am ambitious, thoughtful, and love connecting with people. I believe these traits help me build and keep trust in this profession.

How should people think about their wealth?

In my opinion, wealth should be looked at as a foundation to achieve life goals.

What do you love to do outside of work?

I love hanging out with Melanie, my family, and friends. I enjoy watching and attending sporting events (especially the Iowa State Cyclones!), traveling, and trying out restaurants/breweries.

The Psychology of Money by Morgan Housel

What would you be doing if you didn’t work in the financial industry?

I would be working my way up the ladder as a basketball coach in college hoops.
