Financial Planning Support Specialist
What do you enjoy most about the financial services industry?
I enjoy the little things such as spotting a situation before it becomes a problem or looking for minute details that could have a big impact.
What are the biggest challenges?
The potential of having to navigate a situation in which a client does not have the resources to retire, as they wish. Even clients with the seemingly well thought out plans and the best intentions can still make mistakes.
What professional accomplishments are you most proud of?
Getting my master’s degree in Personal Financial Planning from Texas Tech. Suns up, Guns up!
What personal accomplishments are you most proud of?
Leaving the comforts (and warmth) of my home in Texas to move across the country for a new job opportunity at Roell Capital Management.
What quality of yours makes you best suited to do what you do?
I genuinely care about people being secure and unencumbered within their financial wishes and desires. I find that people are happier when their money stratosphere is in good working order.
How should people think about their wealth?
I believe people should think about their money in terms of security and power. You always want to have the ability to leave a bad situation. When individuals are financially secure they tend to not have to make decisions out of desperation.
What do you love to do outside of work?
I watch more sports than what should be legally allowed, and I also enjoy kayaking when I am not watching sports.
What’s the most influential book you’ve read?
I believe the most influential book I have read is Think and Grow Rich. This book mostly portrays the powerful affect the mind has on your ability to achieve financial success.
What would you be doing if you didn’t work in the financial industry?
A meteorologist or in the back office of an MLB team.
